Harmonie and Hope (HH) is part of a larger vision that has evolved from my work in criminal justice reform, focused on changing the narrative on how we see and treat people with a criminal record. During my 20 year career in criminal justice reform I have seen women in prison and the reentry programs intended to provide support for them, as an afterthought. We coined it “and women”, meaning that system and program leaders largely believe that any existing program designed for men could be facilitated for women in the exact same way. That is not true. 

I have also recognized that we are more alike than we are different, and in our brokenness we find common ground allowing us the opportunity to support each other from our unique experiences and resources.  My intention with the scalable project of HH is to provide safe, gender conscious supportive programming and networks for women returning home from prison and ultimately from a broad spectrum of transitional experiences including freedom from an abusive relationship, financial challenges, empty nesting, etc. Together in the Harmony and Hope community we can empower each other to reach our greatest potential.
